Blending Image

Step 1. We need 2 images. Make sure they are both in the same resolution (72 dpi for the web) and color-space (RGB in this case). Open both these documents in Photoshop.We will want to combine both images into 1 document.

Step 2. Drag one image into the other window and a new layer will be created automatically with the new layer on top.

Tip: To center the new image in the window hold down the Shift key while dragging.

Step3. We will play with The Layer MaskClick on the add layer mask button This will create a new layer mask. A layer mask is transparent. When you paint black into the mask it allows the image underneath to show through. Where it is white, the underlying layer will be hidden.

Step 4. Now we will play with The Gradient tool.Press the "G" key to select the gradient tool. Make sure the fore and backgrounds are set to black and white. "D" key. Select linear gradient and foreground to background.Now drag the gradient diagonally across the image.You can see the gradient in the layer thumbnail and the result on the image. Where it is white, the top image shows and where it is darker the back shows through. You can do your experiments with different angles.

Tip: You may also use any of the brush tools on the mask. Black will "paint away" the image and white will "paint it back". Use a soft brush for best results. For an interesting variation you can change the layer blending mode to any style that you want.

Selection With Magic Wand Tool

Step 1. Open your image, with one color background.

Step 2. Now we will use the Magic Wand tool to remove the background.

Step 3. Click the magic wand toll and set the tolerance to 25 (or you can change as you like).

Step 4. With the magic wand tool, click to the area that you want to change, for another area, press shift and cklick to the area.

Step 5. Press Del. Now Youre Done!

Paint Effect

Step 1: Open up a stock image in Photoshop of any size and/or format. The best results for this tutorial usually involve images with a high resolution and lots of bright colors. Once you have done this, select Layer > Duplicate Layer from the main menu to create a duplicate layer on top of your base photograph.

Step 2: Using your mouse, select the top/duplicated layer in the layers palette and set the blending mode to Overlay.

Step 3: With the top layer still active, load up the cutout filter via Filter > Artistic > Cutout, and enter in the settings on the left. When finished, press OK.

Step 4: Select the bottom/background layer using the layers palette, and run Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. You can vary this value to taste if needed. Press OK when you are finished.

Turn Color To Black and White

Step 1. Open your image in photopshop.

Step 2. Go to Layer Menu > New Adjustment Layer > Channel Mixer.

Step 3. Check the monochrome box, and change the RGB slider as you like.

Step 4. In the pallet layer, copy the channel mixer layer, and change the belending mode to overlay and amount of the opacity to 25%. And your done!.

Remove Image Background

Step 1 : Open your image in photoshop.

Step 2 :Now pick the magnetic lasso tool.

Step 3 :Move the magnetic lasso tool around your object that you want to remove its background.

Step 4 :Then go to select menu choose inverse.

Step 5 :Go to edit menu choose clear.

Step 6 :Now your background is removed.

You can change the background with your own color.

Quick Sunset

Open the image that you want to work with and also open any image of a sunset.

Choose Image>Adjustments>Match Color

The Match Color dialog box will open. We will only need to use 2 settings for the task at hand.

Under Source, click the drop down menu and select the image of the sunset. There will be a thumbnail for you to check that you have selected the correct image.

Turn on the preview option if it isn’t already. The working image will now take on the color attributes of the sunset image. Most probably the effect will be a bit too much.

Adjust the Fade slider until you are happy with the result. Move it to the left for more of the inherited color and to the right for the original color.

When you are satisfied, click the OK button to apply the changes. There are many things that can be done with this new Filter in Photoshop CS including using the match color to remove a color cast in a single click.

Color Isolation

Step 1: Open your picture in Photoshop and select Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Channel Mixer from the main menu. Check the box marked 'monochrome' and adjust the brightness percentages to suit your personal tastes. Take your time in this stage balancing the picture. There is no ideal way to do this, but since this step dictates the overall look of your final image, experimentation is the key. When you are happy with your results, press OK.
Step 2: Select the new adjustment layer that you have just created from the Layers Palette. Now, select a brush toolwith 100% opacity with a non-fuzzy brush tip and ensure that the colors in the color swatches are Black & white.

Step 3: Using the black color, carefully brush over the parts of the image that you want to be in color. You will need to switch to a smaller brush to isolate the smaller details. If you make a mistake, paint over the area again in white to restore the monochrome effect.
